Aadhaar-enabled Payment System(AePS) for face authentication is a biometric authentication method used in India for financial transactions. How does the Face Authentication for AePS Works?

Earlier, the transactions were being authenticated using the customer’s Aadhaar number and fingerprint or Iris match in the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) records. However, the new facility enables the customers to validate the transaction by undertaking face authentication along with the Aadhaar number. The authentication is processed using the Face Authentication RD Application by the UIDAI.

What all services can the customer avail using AePS?

Currently, Airtel Payments Bank customers can use AePS for non-financial that include balance enquiry and mini-statement.

What are the objectives of AePS for Face Authentication?
